An Unexpected Visit from Eva Sita

Kora Repair Shenanigans at Guitar Quackery

This week I had the delightful surprise of meeting Eva Sita, a talented performing artist hailing from the Ivory Coast. She strolled into my shop unexpectedly, electric kora in hand, ready to fix a problem that could thwart her upcoming performance. The kora (an African string instrument) had a broken output jack and her performance was next day. Just the kind of work I was looking forward to, as an emergency repair, and without an appointment, LOL.

But at Guitar Quackery I always take care of visiting performing artists, so I made an exception and put her kora on the workbench. Then she stepped outside to print some flyers for her show.

On a whim I started doing live stream of this repair and after a few minutes she returned to the shop and joined in. She enjoyed it so much it was a riot having her on the show. After the live stream she even said that she wanted to come back, so we revised our business arrangement and started talking about the possibility of working together during her stay in NYC.

You'll be seeing more of Eva Sita at Guitar Quackery.

In the meantime, please visit her YouTube channel Eva Sita.
